What happened to the Indeed Publisher API?
Indeed's Publisher API allowed registered developers to search and display Indeed job listings in third-party websites and apps. It was widely used by job boards, career tools, and recruiting platforms. Indeed closed the Publisher Program to new publishers in October 2022 and discontinued the API for existing publishers in 2023, with no self-serve replacement (see jobspipe.dev's writeup of the Publisher API shutdown, retrieved September 2026). Teams that relied on it for job data feeds, analytics, or backfill content were left without a replacement from Indeed.
If you post jobs to Indeed as an ATS partner, Indeed's Job Sync API is the route for that. If you need job posting data for analytics, a job board or AI training, Techmap offers a self-serve job-data API and bulk files. What you should know before choosing Techmap
The API returns 10 postings per request
Correct - the Jobs API is metered per request of 10 postings, which works out at $1 per 1,000 job postings. For bulk volumes you don't page through the API at all: daily JSON Lines files per country arrive in your own S3 bucket via AWS Data Exchange, without request limits.
The API only covers the last 3 months
Correct - the API is built for fresh postings. Everything older lives in the historical archive: 451M+ postings since January 2020, sold per country as datasets in the same schema, so current and historical data join without mapping.
Duplicates are flagged, not removed
Correct - a posting with the same company, city, country and title within 3 days is kept and marked isDuplicate: true, with isDuplicateOf pointing to the first one. Add isDuplicate=false to an API query to exclude them. Keeping them is useful for analysis: they show on which boards, career pages and employment offices a company distributes its job ads - and how much it spends on them.
